The first impression you get of this video is that it is taking a comical approach, this is evident through the use of annotations in yellow boxes which are essentially telling the story. The comical element of the video is used again when one women punches another and the word 'krak' appears in bold yellow letters as if it was imitating a comic book. The camera shows 'Mathers Mansion' and uses a yellow box in the top corner saying 'duty calls' which shows that Eminem is being represented as a superhero in this video, the video then makes a reference to Batman as an E appears in the sky from a spotlight. The video continues to maintain these comical elements throughout, I like this video because it takes a whole new approach on a hip-hop music video.
Eminem // My Name is
This video is meant to have some form of comical value to it, the comedy is shown through Eminem representing himself as different stereotypes of people, an example of this is when he is supposedly representing a science teacher, he has stereotypical big grey hair and is wearing odd looking glasses. I like how the video is portrayed as though we are watching the man and woman watch the video and when it zooms in on the TV it's like we are watching it with them as you can still see the rim of the TV throughout the video. I like the use of the 'Shady bunch' when the chorus is sang as they are all close ups of Eminem's face but they sing different parts of the chorus. I like this video because of the comical value it has of stereotypes and the different approach it takes on a hip-hop music video.
Rich Gang // Lifestyle
This video focus's solely on wealth, it is shown by Young Thug driving a Ferrari, the whole group being on their private jet and the amount of jewellery each individual is wearing. Young Thug is also seen giving a lot of money in cash to a woman who seems to be his mother, she is wearing very basic clothing and from the little amount of the house that we can see it doesn't look expensive at all which suggests the idea that he came from a poor background. I like the use of the panning shot at the start of this video as it sets the mood for the video, it shows what seems to be New York from the waters perspective as it is taken from a boat.
Rae Sremmurd // This Could Be Us
This video opens with an intro rather than playing the song straight away, the name of the duo, the title of the song and the credits are given at the start as they seem to be typed out across the screen. This video seems to follow a documentary style as it seems to film Rae Sremmurd's trip to Johannesburg, the footage in the video shows a lot of variation in the things that they did, ranging from petting cheetah's to partying with large amounts of people. I like this video because it seems to show variation in what hip-hop artists get up to despite still showing the stereotypical partying lifestyle they have.
Rae Sremmurd // No Type
I like the simplicity of this video, like the 'This Could Be Us' music video it follows Rae Sremmurd on a day in what seems to be California whilst performing 'No Type.' Alot of the video is filmed in a two shot showing the two members of Rae Sremmurd, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi. It is a very basic yet effective music video, it seems like it would require a very small budget to make.
Eminem // Beautiful
This music video consists of the camera following Eminem around a rundown building, the video solely focuses on him and a lot of the video is filmed with little light which suggests the deepness of what he is rapping about. I like this video in particular as it shows a massive variation in what Eminem raps about when you compare it to the other video's I have analysed such as 'Without Me', this music video is simple yet so effective at setting the mood for what he raps about in this song.
Arctic Monkeys // Do I Wanna Know?
This music video is very simple and easy to enjoy, the lines merely move to the beat of the song and to Alex Turner's voice. The lines are very simple at the start of the song and become more complex as the video goes on, the variation of images and colour that are used throughout the video make it very easy and satisfying to watch.
Kendrick Lamar // King Kunta
The music video for 'King Kunta' opens on a shot of a sign which welcomes people to Compton, this already suggests the video is going to be set where Kendrick comes from. I like this video because it follows up the idea of it being homemade because the person filming is walking around holding the camera and videoing everything that is going on around Kendrick. I like how the video ends the most, it finishes on a close up of Kendrick sat on his throne in his home city of Compton suggesting he is the king of Compton.
